Exciting young horses

The sales season keeps going and KRB have been busy at the NH foal sales in Tattersalls Ireland and in Arqana buying yearlings.

On the racing front there have been some very exciting young prospects running for KRB in the last couple of weeks. I Could Do Better won the 2yr old EBF novice stakes on his debut at Redcar for owners Paul and Clare Rooney and trainer Keith Dalgleish. He was bought at Goresbridge Breeze Up sale and looks to be a horse to look forward to next season.

Gods Own has been a fantastic purchase for KRB since being bought as a store, and stayed on strongly to win the Grade 2 Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter, four years after winning  the same race in the past. Gods Own has now won over £580,000 in prize money.

Blow By Blow was just beaten in the in the Grade 2 Novice Chase at Punchestown, finishing second and is sure to have a bright future over fences.

Ontopoftheworld won for the fifth time when winning the handicap chase at Fakenham for Peter Bowen, with son Sean in the saddle. He was bought by KRB as a foal.

There have been some very promising debut performances for owners Paul and Clare Rooney. Newtown Boy winning over hurdles at Hereford for Alan King, and I’m To Blame winning over hurdles at Sedgefield for Keith Dalgleish, and remaining unbeaten. Today there was an across the card double with two bumper debutantes winning in the same Rooney colours with Winningseverything at Market Rasen for Harry Fry, and Now Look At Me at Wincanton for Tom George. All four horses were bought by KRB as stores.

Also winning today at Wincanton in good style was Fairway Freddy for trainer Nick Gifford and owners the New Gold Team under a good ride  from Rex Dingle in the handicap hurdle. He was bought at Cheltenham sales as a Breeze Up horse by KRB.
